Meal Plans FAQ's
You can sign up for a meal plan through the meal plan portal by logging in with your UNM Single Sign On. You will need to agree to the meal plan terms and conditions, select the semester of purchase, and “add” or “change” your plan. Note: If you are viewing the portal on your mobile device, the navigation menu will be on the top left of the page behind three bars.
Our Full Access plans include Unlimited La Po+, which allows you to visit La Posada and La Ventana as often as you like. (Unlimited access may only be used by the plan holder and times out for 30 minutes between transactions.)
Meal Exchange is issued per semester, and unused Meal Exchange will expire at the end of each academic semester in Full Access pland and at the end of the academic year in Community Plans.
Dining dollars may be issued per semester (Full Access plans) or per academic year (Community plans). Unused dining dollars will roll over from Fall to Spring in Full Access Plans provide the meal plan holder purchases a new plan for Spring. All unused dining dollars and guest passes are forfeited at the end of the Spring semester.
Meal plan holders can check their account balances anytime at https://unmstudentlink.atriumcampus.com.
Once you have established the account management login, you can check the balances of your meal plan tenders, along with your LoboCash balance, if you've deposited funds into that account. For more information on LoboCash click here. Finally, you may always bring your card by the LoboCard Office and we'll swipe it and give you your balance. For LoboCard Office hours of operation, click here. Due to FERPA regulations, we can not give out balances over the phone.
The cash registers at food locations print receipts that show the balances of meal swipes on your account. These balances are not always accurate due to software technicalities. Please check your balances through the online portal, meal plan portal , for accurate numbers.
Feedback may be submitted in a variety of ways. We appreciate your feedback and are happy to connect with you in the way that is most convenient and comfortable for you. Our diners are also welcome to request an in person or virtual visit with us using the 'Contact Us' form.
The door price is the cost for all-you-care-to-eat dining at La Posada without using a meal swipe. Non residential students, faculty, staff, and visitors may also dine at La Posada by paying the door price. Dining dollars, LoboCash, cash, credit, or debit card may be used to pay the door price for the meal. Current door prices can be found on our La Posada page.
Voluntary Meal Plan Holders can cancel their meal plan through the meal plan portal by logging in with your UNM Single Sign On. You will need to agree to the meal plan terms and conditions, select the semester, and “remove” your plan. If you are viewing the portal on your mobile device, the navigation menu will be on the top left of the page behind three bars. Note: if you are a First Year Resident, you cannot cancel your meal plan until you either terminate your housing contract or are approved for a meal plan release request.
Meal Plan Requirement Release Request Information:
Required meal plan holders who need to be released from their meal plan may apply by completing the online Meal Plan Release Request Form. The UNM Food team will review your request and strive to provide satisfactory accommodations. If we are unable to accommodate your needs, your request will be forwarded to the appropriate campus offices for further evaluation.
Meal Plan Release Considerations
Meal plan release requests may be considered under the following circumstances (please allow up to 2 weeks for evaluation):
- Documented Dietary Restrictions: If you have dietary restrictions due to medical issues, allergies, or religious beliefs, your request will be assessed by the UNM Accessibility Resource Center or the Compliance, Ethics, and Equal Opportunity Office. Please ensure you provide the necessary supporting documentation, which will be treated confidentially.
Financial Hardship Assistance
If you are experiencing significant financial challenges, complete the Meal Plan Release Request Form and select Financial Hardship in the request category. Your application will be evaluated by the LoboRESPECT Advocacy Center. You may qualify for assistance or aid through this process.

Guest passes allow you to bring a guest with you into the La Posada Dining Hall. Each time you bring someone without their own meal plan access into La Posada, your guest pass balance will be reduced by one. You may visit La Posada by using a meal swipe or by paying the door price with dining dollars, LoboCash, credit, or debit card.
Dining dollars used before the plan was changed are subtracted from the dining dollar balance that comes with the new plan.
